Scheduling tasks by personal energy level
Camille Rabier
Thanks again Robin for this app. I've gone through I don't know how many tools, calendars, apps, apps, AI, systems like Notion, systems like body doubling, etc. and I really think that DoEverything is the best fit for me in everything I've put in place so far. On a daily basis, I suffer from cognitive overload due to neurodevelopment disorders and productivity has always been an ordeal to live my days with peace of mind.
I really believe that the ritual of planning tasks at any time of the day (in addition to the super clean design and interactive widgets) is what gives me the most and what is best integrated into DoEverything in everything I have seen. I have a way to amplify the impact of this planning and make the days even more fluid.
I use the spoon method when I can (I currently write in French so I hope it's understandable in English). It is a method used by people with chronic illnesses. This method makes it possible to calculate your level of fatigability from the moment you wake up. Structured (which I no longer use) has for example integrated it but I don't like their integration.
The idea is to associate each task with a cost in terms of intellectual/cognitive effort and that when planning your day, choose your tasks according to your available vitality (vitality and mood are also very closely linked).
I would be really happy to contribute in my own way if you like this idea and if it is supported by others. It's a feature that I could easily pay for.

Hi Camille, thank you so much for such a thoughtful, detailed feature request – and for the kind words about the app! It means a lot to hear that the daily planning ritual is working well for you.
The spoon/energy-level concept is a fantastic idea. I can definitely see how pairing it with the planning flow could make a big difference in managing cognitive load throughout the day, and it's something I'd love to explore.
To make sure I understand your vision fully, I just have two quick questions:
- Effort rating: Would you imagine this as a simple rating on each task (e.g., low/medium/high), or something more granular like a numeric "spoon cost" that you budget against a daily total?
- Task suggestions: Would you want the app to actually suggest which tasks to tackle, or just help you visualize your remaining capacity as you plan?
I'd love to hear more. Feel free to reply right here or drop me an email at feedback@doeverything.app. Thanks again for offering to contribute!

Robin Mitra thanks for your adorable response!
Personally, I schedule myself 3 brain dump sessions per day where I create my tasks in bulk. At this stage, I can see myself qualifying the cognitive cost that the task requires in its parameters (neutral, low, medium, difficult or even vice versa, a task that gives me back energy) which would in fact correspond to a numerical number.
The morning schedule may ask me how I feel at the start of the day and what vitality I have in me (“I am in great shape”, “I slept badly and I need to take care of myself”, etc., these are examples). It is then up to me to select the tasks that I feel capable of doing today based on my available vitality gauge. Seeing this gauge fill up, while not being limited in the number of my tasks, would help me take good care of myself before working.
Is it clear to you?

Camille Rabier: Thank you for such a detailed breakdown – the "energy-giving" cost category and "brain dump" approach are particularly brilliant. I’d love to take this forward and explore it. Would you be open to beta-testing when we have something ready? Your intuition on the experience would be invaluable as we refine it.
